Research Support Services (RSS)
One of the objectives of the IiSGM is to provide and facilitate access for all researchers to the necessary, cutting-edge technology that enables biomedical problems to be addressed. For the IiSGM, technology is one of the pillars for giving its scientific and translational output the added and differential value that the competitiveness of the scientific environment requires; it therefore considers it strategic to properly organise the Technological and Infrastructure area, strengthening common units with a service-oriented approach, efficient work and full accessibility for the benefit of the Institute’s entire scientific and medical community.
The research process carried out at the IisGM Institute is supported by a set of infrastructures dedicated to research and, on the other hand, by others included within the hospital organisation itself. According to their purpose, the structures are considered to be:
- Vertical structures that are linked to a specific research area, with full-time dedication (AD) or mixed dedication (AM); in the latter case, the infrastructure provides an additional healthcare service.
- Horizontal structures, because their organisation is intended to support all research areas, constituting the common support services that we refer to as Research Support Services (RSS). The latter are organised into 5 levels, depending on the subject of the research:
