Summer course: Evaluation of biomedical research. Meeting of the Alliance of Health Research Institutes (UIMP-ISCIII)
On 30 and 31 August 2022, this Summer Course of the Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo (UIMP), organised in collaboration with the ISCIII, will take place.
This academic activity will present an analysis of the current situation regarding the evaluation of biomedical research and improvement processes incorporating the principles of open science, analysis of its impact on society, and consideration of the transfer of the knowledge generated. These are areas in which the Instituto de Salud Carlos III (ISCIII) works in its capacity as an OPI with high-impact scientific activity and as the main agency funding biomedical and health research in Spain.
It involves strengthening cooperation between the ISCIII and the Health Research Institutes in their contribution to the advancement of R&I in biomedicine. It establishes a forum for discussion among healthcare professionals and researchers from the SNS on the challenges and opportunities offered in recognising performance and professional development, and as an incentive for the recruitment and retention of research talent in the SNS. It will also promote the commitment and active participation of all stakeholders in the deployment of new scientific evaluation tools in line with the initiatives promoted by the European Commission.
It is organised into 4 sessions spread over the 2 days of the course, with time set aside for conclusions at the end. Each session has a moderator and various speakers. Within each session, monographic sessions are combined with round tables and brief presentations to encourage discussion of the main topics. Traditional presentation tools will be combined with SLIDO-type tools to promote online interactivity and discussion.
