The IiSGM wins the “Research Development” Award presented by New Medical Economics
The Institute has been recognized for its significant contribution to the development of Biomedicine and Health Sciences
The New Medical Economics Awards, which were presented at the end of last year, 2023, recognise the merits of institutions and professionals who have made a significant contribution to the development of Biomedicine and Health Sciences.
The intense activity of the Marañón researchers led them, during the last academic year, to exceed 7,700 impact factor points, making it one of the most active centres in Spain in terms of scientific output. In addition, the Institute's commitment to entrepreneurship has already generated four spin-offs that make it possible to transfer the results of the research led by the Marañón to society as a whole.
The IiSGM has 1,300 researchers who focus their activity on seven areas determined by their coherence and scientific soundness and by the social and health significance of their research activity: biomedical engineering, cardiovascular research, neuroscience, infectious diseases, the immune system, oncology, and major systems and organ transplantation. Our Institute also has a research group in Nursing Care and a research group in Primary Care.
