IiSGM wins the “Research Development” Award presented by New Medical Economics

The Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria Gregorio Marañón (IiSGM) has been awarded the “Research Development” Prize by New Medical Economics magazine. The New Medical Economics Awards, presented at the end of 2023, recognise the achievements of institutions and professionals who have made a significant contribution to the development of Biomedicine and Health Sciences.

The intense activity of the Marañón researchers led them, over the past year, to surpass 7,700 impact factor points, making it one of the most active centres in terms of scientific output in Spain. In addition, the Institute’s commitment to entrepreneurship has already generated four spin-offs that enable the results of research led by the Marañón to be transferred to society as a whole.

The IiSGM has 1,300 researchers whose work focuses on seven areas defined by their scientific coherence and robustness and by the social and health significance of their research activity: biomedical engineering, cardiovascular medicine, neuroscience, infectious diseases, the immune system, oncology, and major systems and organ transplantation. Our Institute also has a research group in Nursing Care and a research group in Primary Care.
