The Marañón research stands out in the report that ranks it as one of Spain’s strongest academic medical centers
The perception of the research work carried out by the Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria Gregorio Marañón (IiSGM) has been recognised in the ‘AMC Hospitals 250 2024’ report. Within this prestigious classification, Hospital Gregorio Marañón, a public hospital in the Community of Madrid, ranks among the 100 medical institutions worldwide with the strongest brand in this area.
This is the second annual ‘ranking’ of its kind produced by ‘Brand Finance’, and in this edition one of the highest positions in Spain is occupied by this hospital, which reaches 96th position, making it the second in Spain.
Marañón stands out for its growth in indicators measuring perceptions, the reputation of its research and the reputation of patient care, in which it achieves a significant score of 9 out of 10.
This independent consultancy analyses more than 6,000 of the most important brands worldwide and publishes more than 100 reports in which it ranks references from all sectors and countries. The 250 most valuable and strongest CMA brands are included in the aforementioned classification.
Compared with the previous year, Marañón has climbed the brand strength ranking to place it among the 100 highest-rated entities. According to the report, this increase is mainly due to a better perception in the metrics measuring healthcare and research.
Ismael Buño, scientific director of the Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria Gregorio Marañón, states that at the hospital they feel “tremendously honoured to be part of such a distinguished group, which is recognition of the constant pursuit of excellence and, ultimately, of the commendable healthcare and research work carried out by all the institution’s professionals”.
In addition, the hospital stands out in several of the criteria scored by Brand Finance, in which it has improved compared with the results achieved in 2023. These include the categories “Reputation of research”, “Known for its scientific advances” and “Reputation for patient care”, in which it achieves a significant score of 9 out of 10.
