Donate your stool to science!

DONATE YOUR STOOL FOR SCIENCE! We invite you to participate in a study* to gain a better understanding of the pathology of Inflammatory Bowel Disease, for which we need your collaboration as a healthy individual. It is important to have a diversity of ages and different sexes, so we encourage you to bring not only your own stool, but also that of any family members or people close to you (children, parents, grandchildren, cousins, friends...). To do so, below you can consult the instructions for collecting the sample, together with the study's information/consent form which you must bring signed on the day you bring the sample.[su_spacer size="10"] To participate, it is important to meet the following CONDITIONS:
  • Must NOT have received antibiotics/probiotics in the last 3 months.
  • Absence of disease (including those related to the microbiota: cholelithiasis, colorectal cancer, hepatic encephalopathy, idiopathic constipation, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, familial Mediterranean fever, gastric lymphoma or carcinoma, arthritis, asthma, atopy, dermatitis, psoriasis, autoimmune disease, fatigue syndrome, diabetes mellitus, hypercholesterolaemia, idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura, myocardial ischaemia, metabolic syndrome, behavioural disorders, multiple sclerosis, myoclonic dystonia, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, oxalate kidney stones, Parkinson's disease).
  • Alcohol intake of less than 50 g/day.
Here you can see the simple STEPS TO FOLLOW if you would like to collaborate: Instructions  Thank you very much. *The study is entirely altruistic: You will receive no financial benefit and no results report of any kind will be issued. Since the samples will be used exclusively for the study of microbiota analysis and biofilm production, they will not be recorded in the system nor will the results be reflected in your medical record. The samples will only be stored frozen for analysis, and the results will not be provided to participants. The results will be used to compare the composition and distribution of faecal flora with that of individuals with Inflammatory Bowel Disease and to identify the differences and predisposing factors that may help clarify the pathology of this condition. As with any study, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. For more information, please consult the informed consent form.
