The ISCIII AES-LEIS 2026 Call for Applications is published
As every year, the Strategic Action in Health of the Instituto de Salud Carlos III includes new features and improvements to continue promoting health R&D&I in Spain. In 2026, the AES will consolidate greater stability for research projects, which in many cases will increase in duration from three to four years; in the case of independent clinical research projects, they will increase from four to six years.
As regards the calls for human resources, the conditions for stabilisation after the end of the postdoctoral contracts under the Miguel Servet and Juan Rodés programmes have been improved. There are also improvements to the evaluation criteria for grants, with clearer rules and more agile administrative management.
As every year, the ISCIII will hold an information session on the AES 2026, open to the entire research community, to explain and present the AES 2026, its new features, its implementation and how to apply for the grants.
