The IiSGM receives UNE 166002:2021 certification

The UNE 166002:2021 standard provides a frame of reference for systematising R&D&I activities and ensuring that they are managed effectively and efficiently.

Specifically, the new UNE 166002:2021 standard is based on the following innovation management principles:

The following principles form the basis of the R&D&I Management System:

  • Value generation
  • Future-focused leadership
  • Strategic direction
  • Culture
  • Purposeful ideas
  • Uncertainty management
  • Adaptability
  • Systems approach

The IiSGM was one of the first Health Research Institutes to obtain this certification in 2016. On 12 December 2022, it once again obtained the issue of the certificate, which will not expire until 2025.

The implementation of a quality system has brought significant benefits to the Unit, not only in terms of its personnel, but also positively affecting the transfer indicators.

The UAI attended the conference on the Science Act organised by the Madrid Science Park Foundation

12 December 2022

On 12 December, this conference took place with the aim of informing start-ups, SMEs, entrepreneurs and agents in the science, technology and innovation ecosystem about the objectives and technical developments relating to the transfer and entrepreneurship aspects of the amendment to the Science, Technology and Innovation Act.

The session was organised by the Madrid Science Park Foundation (FPCM), together with the Directorate-General for Innovation of the Ministry of Science and Innovation and the law firm DWF-RCD, as part of the activities of the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN), of which the FPCM is an active member.

It addressed the importance of strengthening and promoting our research, development and innovation (R&D&I) system, encouraging knowledge-based entrepreneurship. The new law seeks to resolve the known shortcomings in the Spanish science, technology and innovation system (precarious employment for R&D&I workers, the legal framework applicable to personnel involved in transferring research results into innovation, and governance of the entire system, especially public-private collaboration).

It was noted that the new law offers changes and opportunities to advance the strategies followed by public research centres in transfer and entrepreneurship activities.

On the other hand, two researchers highlighted the numerous difficulties encountered in bringing research to market, mainly due to the absence of specific regulations for the implementation of laws.
